What happens when the period ends?
Every plan includes a period during which the memorial is online. When that period ends, you can extend the memorial so the memories are kept. No unpleasant surprises: about a month before the end date, the manager gets a reminder by email and a message appears in the memorial. In the settings you can also see how many days are left.
How do I extend, and who can do it?
Anyone with access to the memorial can contribute to an extension. You choose the length yourself: one month, several months or several years. So one person might extend by a year at once, while someone else contributes a month. Together you make sure the memories are kept. You extend via Settings.
What does an extension cost?
The longer you extend at once, the better the monthly price:
- 1 month: €6.50
- 3 months: €6 per month
- 6 months: €5.50 per month
- 1 year: €5 per month
- More than a year: €4.85 per month
What if nobody extends the memorial?
The memorial then goes offline when the period ends. We keep the data for another six months, so there’s still time to extend it and bring it back online. If it isn’t extended within those six months, the data is permanently deleted. We do this to comply with privacy law (GDPR), which doesn’t allow us to keep personal data longer than necessary.
Can I bring an offline memorial back online?
Yes, within six months after the period has ended. During that time the memorial is in archive mode and you can reactivate it via the settings. The extension must then be at least three months: restoring an archived memorial takes extra work and storage, and this way the memorial stays available for a meaningful while. After those six months the data is permanently deleted and the memorial can no longer be restored.
