Who can see the conversation?

Only the managers of the memorial and your funeral home. Guests and other members of the memorial never see this conversation. In your team, the portal administrator, managers and staff members can write. People with view-only access can read along but not write.

Your inbox

Choose Messages in the menu. There you see all conversations with families, newest at the top. New messages also appear via the bell (Notifications) at the top. For a new message you also get an email, at most one per hour per conversation, so you’re not flooded.

Starting a conversation yourself

Go to Memorials, open the memorial’s menu and start the conversation there. For example to ask the family which photos can go in the slideshow or on the memorial card.

Receiving photos

The family can attach photos from the memorial, for example for the slideshow or the memorial card. You download them in full quality: one by one, or all at once with Download (ZIP).

How the family sends you something

  • Via Funeral home in the menu of their memorial, where the conversation with you lives.
  • From Media: they select photos and choose To funeral home, optionally with a short message.

How long does a conversation stay open?

A conversation closes automatically 30 days after the memorial was created, because the funeral has usually taken place by then. Both sides can still read it, but no longer write. Still something to sort out? Choose Reopen (30 days) in the conversation. You can also close a conversation earlier with Close conversation.

Keeping your inbox tidy

Conversation finished? Choose Hide. With Hide read you tidy away all read conversations at once. You’ll find them under the Hidden tab. If the family sends a new message, the conversation automatically returns to your inbox.

Turning messages on or off

Go to Settings → Messages with families. When it’s off, families don’t see this feature; you can still read old conversations. Only the portal administrator or a manager can change this setting. It’s on by default.
